What is Jewish Youth Library of Ottawa?
Chicken soup on Friday night. The light in a child’s eyes when he reads his first Hebrew word. A helping hand in times of need. Chabad is a home away from home for every Jew in Ottawa. We are dedicated to serving our community, through our popular Westboro Jewish Montessori Preschool, Camp Gan Izzy, Friendship Circle, Jewish Classes, Community wide Holiday programs and so much more - and now we’re asking for your support to help us build a bright Jewish future, together.
How does a Match Campaign work?
Running an operation like Jewish Youth Library of Ottawa requires a major investment of time, energy, and capital. While Dr. Joseph and Devora Caytak, and their staff work tirelessly to ensure that no Jew is left behind, the day-to-day expenses of operating a non profit centre can be daunting. Rather than charging membership fees or exorbitant event prices, which could alienate some people, we rely on the generosity of the community that we serve. To that end, many generous donors have come forward with a proposal to help the JYL thrive this year. They will each donate generously to the JYL and its associated programs, provided that it is matched by an equal donation from our you, our community. On December 15, our campaign starts officially and your donation will be matched 2X by our donors.
How can I help?
You can be a partner in everything we do to benefit the residents of Ottawa by contributing to our campaign, and by spreading the word.
